"West of the Ural Mountains" is an exploration of urban life in cities like Moscow and St. Petersburg, situated on the western edge of the Ural Mountains. In these cities, I observe a distinctive blend of European and Soviet cultural influences that shape the lifestyles of the people. My goal is to capture the authentic essence of life in these locales through my camera lens. This project is dedicated to dismantling the glorified or vilified stereotypes often imposed on these Eurasian cities by other countries, striving for an objective portrayal of their true character.
